Coromandel. The name alone conjures visions of sapphire coastlines and exotic towering trees bursting with ruby red blossoms.
Aptly named, Coromandel in Farleton, not far from Hornby, stands proudly amidst its emerald surrounds of perfectly pruned gardens, patchwork fields and rolling fells.
Cross the bridge over the tree-lined beck, a picturesque setting for a picture-postcard family home. Continue along this quiet road before pulling into the drive of Coromandel.
Pass by the well-maintained lawn, manicured borders and double garage until you reach the front door, sheltered beneath a handy portico.
Emerge into a bright and welcoming porch, where three tall windows invite in sunlight. From here, a glazed internal door draws this light inside and along the hallway where the staircase rises up to the right.
Stepping through towards the lounge, sense the cherished ambience that this home exudes. Gleamingly clean and richly decorated, each room welcomes you in comfort and in style.
Come through into the lounge. A surreptitiously spacious room; so cosy and yet expansive! Space for all your favourite tables and armchairs without ever feeling crowded. Few rooms can capture this fine balance so astutely. To the other end of the room, a broad picture window looks down
through the sun room below and frames glorious views of the garden and fields beyond. Semi-open plan and accessed from either the lounge or the kitchen, your sociable family dining room is the perfect celebration space. Birthdays, Christmas and summer, gather your loved ones and enjoy a feast with your favourites. Uplighting on the walls assists the abundant natural light that splashes in through the simply huge picture window. So broad it earns the right to its very own bench, settle by the window (a viewing platform really) to watch the sky change from amber to an inky purple, reflecting its colours in the garden pond below and silhouetting the distant hills. Simply the best seat in the house.
Such a free-flowing house…from the dining room move into the spacious utility room. In this ‘command central’ of cleaning you also have direct indoor access to your abundantly sized double garage. Handy on those rare days of inclement weather.

I met the owners on a sunny day as we sat in the sun room and I could’ve stayed all day. The wall of windows, the green grass and the incredible far reaching views bring the outside in. It’s calming and peaceful to see so much of the outside with these large picture windows.
the driveway is quite unusual as you can actually get a number of cars on it! We see so many houses that struggle with this, Coromandel just has it all. One of the most incredible things about this home is the fact that it feels so spacious – everything is large, the rooms flow so well together which makes it feel very very welcoming and super happy. I know as a mum of two children, we’d have the best of both worlds – with great bedrooms for the children to enjoy but also family time, which is so precious to us would be able to be enjoyed. I can almost imagine the board game wars now!
This home is perfect, a great location, a peaceful village and a wonderful view. Yet it is the Master Suite that really pulls me in. It feels exclusive and luxurious as you descend the steps it’s like entering your own spa room with a hint of views through the window.
Really take the time to book a viewing for this one as it is sure to impress.
