You don’t need to travel back in time to discover charm, attentive design and flair…the short journey to 19 Slyne Road is far smoother. If you love a house that can pull off understated Victorian grandeur with a sassy
modern edge, it doesn’t get better than this.
To the front, stepped up from the road stands a charismatic home, tucked behind a primly pruned, neat front garden. Elements of its austere Victorian period are immediately notable from the delicious sand tones in the stone, to the rich black front door embellished with an old school bell push and rustic knocker.
Welcome to a slice of Lancastrian heritage at its finest, and perhaps, the first glimpse of your potential future.
Underfoot as you enter lies a mosaic of original Victorian tiling…quarry red, fresh blue and white, in immaculate condition. Above you, the ceiling of the entrance hall glides upwards, training your eye on
the impressive plaster cherubs above the staircase.
Traditional architraves set the scene for a home of substance, understated in its old-school glamour. Period features; everybody loves them – especially when they come parceled up in pretty Orla Kiely packaging. Step through the door to the right and into the cosy living room and you’ll see what we mean. Huge bay windows bathe this space in light, serving to emphasise the surrounding period details. Of particular brilliance is the ornate plaster frieze, running from the cornice down to the highest point of the walls. A haughty marbled fire surround houses a gas fire to keep you toasty warm on those winter evenings.

I adore this home. I’m a lover of all things Victorian and the garden was the ultimate for me! Its the perfect place for indulging in a book, escaping with friends and the ultimate barbecue garden. I can see bank holidays and cocktails already.
Its the large rooms, high ceilings and large windows that really set it apart for me. Log burners are my favourite, I adore the smell they give off, it makes it feel super homely and warm.
Ps: It even has a wonderful parking space at the rear too. Useful in this city location.
